This is MJW Attorneys Incorporated. We are a boutique law firm offering legal services in family law and civil litigation in the Overberg, but our virtual reach allows us to assist clients in most places.

Although we are a law firm, we do things a bit differently because we are a mediation referral firm.

What does this mean?

When appropriate, we refer our matters to our accredited mediator for virtual mediation. Our clients pay a fixed fee and participate in four 90-minute virtual mediation sessions. We don’t get involved in mediation, but we offer legal advice and support along the way.

If the mediation is successful, our clients return to us to finalise their matters in the appropriate forum. We prepare the agreements and court papers for a fixed fee and finalise the matter as soon as possible after conclusion of mediation.

There are no hidden costs and if you commit to mediation and all the opportunities it provides, you will get the settlement you deserve and the certainty of an outcome – court order in-hand!

Why do we do things differently?

Sometimes, good lawyering is about helping people find a way out of a problem and not keeping them in it. Litigation attorneys hate to admit it, but conflict is potential revenue and most clients are not given the opportunity to resolve their conflict in a neutral and organic way.

A mediator is not representing either party and their purpose is to provide meaningful solutions to conflict that people can work with and implement because it is relevant to their lives.
